Are you interested in natural healthcare?

If you are interested in natural healthcare then you may want to visit the Complementary Healthcare Council's (CHC) website.

Self-described as being committed to "sustainable health and enhanced wellness… naturally", the CHC is a good point of reference for people looking for more information.

The CHC also hopes to see more research conducted about natural healthcare, and has publicly announced its support for the National Health and Medical Research Council's (NHMRC) 2013-15 Strategic Plan.

"Research is at the cornerstone of fostering good health and preventing disease. It is an essential component of the complementary medicines industry and as such we welcome the NHMRC Strategic Plan for 2013 to 15," CHC executive director Dr Wendy Morrow said in a statement.

In particular, the CHC is pleased with two priority actions outlined in the Strategic Plan - firstly, 'to set high standards in ethics in healthcare and research' and secondly, 'to work with partners, states and territories, health bodies, health industries and community consumer groups'.

Dr Morrow hopes that the Strategic Plan will improve the quality of the research on offer.

"The complementary medicines industry welcomes research and clinical trials with the aim of improving population health outcomes, and foresee this research will grow at a rate similar to the expanding industry," she said.
